Introducing EMIS-X Healthcare teams are facing increasing demand and growing pressures that can only be met by NHS organisations working together. We believe that technology has an essential role to play, joining up care and helping to make healthcare delivery faster, better, and more accessible to all. Our market-leading clinical systems are used across every major health setting and have one overarching aim, to improve patient outcomes. EMIS-X uses the latest technology to build on this, supporting healthcare transformation through data driven insights, clinical intelligence and integrated tools that all underpin joined-up, informed and efficient care. For a number of years now our EMIS-X Analytics suite has been providing ICS’s with actionable insights that enable improved service delivery and population health management at scale. EMIS-X is now supporting clinicians at the point of care and our modular, agile approach is going to bring rapid change over the next 12 months. Using the latest trusted and secure technology, EMIS-X is delivering new tools to support complex eco systems and will revolutionise the concept of integrated care. We are excited to see the roll-out of EMIS-X happening and keen to hear feedback from our customers.

The evolution We’re adopting an evolutionary approach for EMIS-X, introducing new functionality incrementally so that you benefit quicker, without the need to retrain on a whole new system from day one. By initially using EMIS-X alongside EMIS Web you’re able to familiarise yourself with the EMIS-X user interface and benefit from new functionality whilst maintaining the rich clinical features of EMIS Web. This ensures a smooth transition and provides a foundation platform for us to deliver enhancements quicker and easier.

The next major phase will be a Technology Innovation Framework (TIF) compliant system available in a browser. This will include core functionality including prescribing, appointments management, and consultations. As an internet first solution this will support remote working and facilitate speed and agility outside a normal general practice setting. EMIS-X will continue evolve, ultimately replacing EMIS Web and becoming the platform that underpins our solutions across all healthcare settings.

EMIS-X Analytics provides secure and seamless access to data and the powerful tools needed to generate meaningful insight. Real-world evidence from patient records makes it easier for services to be tailored to patient’s needs, and for research programmes to develop effective treatments. EMIS-X Analytics is a cloud-based analytics suite of tools, capable of surfacing information quickly and at scale, to generate actionable insights into healthcare trends and local or national level to make positive changes to how healthcare is delivered.

Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System (ICS) is responsible for 800,000 patients in the South of England and has been using EMIS-X Analytics to ‘wrap its arms’ around over-stretched GP practices, by identifying patient behaviours that are driving increased demand.

Local Services Built using EMIS-X technology, Local Services connects patients to local care providers through a process of patient triage and referral. The solution uses information held in the EMIS Web patient record to populate referral templates that can be created to support a referral.

A universal referral solution Local Services saves time for patients and clinicians alike and supports shared working across your neighbourhood. Integrated with EMIS Web, Local Services automatically codes referrals back into the patient record using SNOMED

CT and provides practices with enhanced reporting of all triage assessments and referrals, to better understand the needs of their patient population.

Recruit

Recruit uses advanced analytics and algorithms powered by EMIS-X to identify potentially eligible patients in your area to participate in clinical trials. In just a few clicks, our integrated dashboard surfaces potentially eligible patients, making it quick and easy for you to invite them to take part.

The Grove Medical Centre in Egham, Surrey, is dedicated to advancing healthcare by enabling their patients to participate in clinical trials. By adopting our free Recruit tool in EMIS Web, they’ve ventured into supporting clinical research in primary care for the first time, providing their patient community with the option to join available studies relevant to them.

The most recent roll-out to EMIS Web practices across England has been our new EMIS-X companion application.

It introduces features which have been designed to enhance your day to-day experience and improve patient interactions and outcomes. Important benefits include single sign on to EMIS Now and the ability to have side by-side screen viewing.

Clinical views Clinical views provide additional information about the patient open in EMIS Web. You’ll be able to see recent investigations related to them and look further into a particular problem or diagnosis, view clinical documents from the patient’s record or quickly review their medications during the consultation.

EMIS Now integration Once you’ve signed into EMIS-X you’ll be able to access EMIS Now automatically, without having to sign in separately a second time. This saves you valuable time and conveniently provides access to the product information resources, training and support you may need.

News feed Get regular notifications for all the latest news and updates from EMIS, with a bespoke feed, tailored to your organisation and area.

Instant messenger This new and enhanced functionality now includes chat history, group conversations and notifications.

Pathway

Powered by EMIS-X Analytics suite, Pathway uses clinical intelligence within our software to identify at risk patients and supports healthcare teams to refer them onto the appropriate care pathway. In many instances these pathways are managed by specialist or community care services, thereby helping to relieve pressure from primary care. This is a great tool for early intervention which can allow patients to benefit from potentially lifesaving intervention and help reduce future demands on the NHS.

The Tech Innovation Framework (TIF) By modernising primary care, the NHS aims to reduce pressure on practice staff and meet the growing demand for access. TIF is designed to support this goal through the introduction of next generation clinical systems.
