Supporting practices across Wales With over 20 years’ experience working for EMIS I have a deep understanding of the NHS, and the challenges faced by healthcare teams. I became the account director for Wales in 2018, and I’m passionate about supporting our Welsh customers to deliver exceptional care to their patients. I represent EMIS at the quarterly user groups, sharing updates and training, and work closely with the Senior Service Relationship Manager to support practice queries and escalations.

Pauline Cheetham Account Director

During the pandemic, I worked with several practices across Wales to support local clusters

to work more collaboratively through enabling remote consultation. Our deployment team stepped in to implement agreements at pace to get this solution up and running, and after a successful pilot a number of other clusters joined the agreement. Remote consultation allowed these practices to share clinical staff and work from a single appointment book, whilst filing the data back to the registered practice – meaning time and resource could be used to best effect during the crisis.

8

My extensive knowledge and experience means I’m ideally placed to support Welsh practices with local plans and projects, to ensure you get the best value from our solutions. I really look forward to the opportunity to speak with you further and hope we can collaborate in future to bring your vision to life.

Unlocking the full potential of EMIS Web Alvanley Family Practice in Stockport is making the most of tools in EMISWeb to save clinical and administrative time so that they can provide a better service to their patients.

Clinically led We have a long history as a clinically led business, beginning with our founding GPs some 30 years ago, and continuing today with our team of incredibly experienced clinicians and clinical informaticians. All our products and solutions are designed, reviewed and developed with significant clinical oversight from our 89 strong clinical team, to ensure that we’re not only focused on the latest technology, but on the reality of the user experience.

EMIS Web is designed by clinicians, with clinicians, for clinicians. Here are some of the top features they like best. • The layout of the clinical record within EMIS is designed to give you just the right amount of information at the right time; from the summary through to the medication and consultation view. • Specialist view of patient records will allow you to access specific clinical areas, such as heart disease. Your organisation can even create highly sophisticated summary views to meet your specific clinical needs. • Key patient information is always just one click away – whether it’s to drill down into a document, or a history of your patient’s blood pressure. • The EMISWeb alerting module is intuitive and highly configurable to user type – enabling you to proactively manage patients on their care pathways, and simultaneously optimise the practice performance against national and local targets. • Clinical workflows are optimised to how real-world clinicians work – for example prescribing and referrals. • Sophisticated clinical decision support operating in real time is deeply embedded into EMISWeb, provided instantly as you enter each item of data.

15

• Collaborate across healthcare organisations using record sharing (between EMISWeb systems), cross organisational appointments and tasking & remote consulting. • GP2GP is an NHS standard for transferring patient records. It increases the number of digital patient record transfers from an old GP practice to a new one and brings improvements, like reducing paper printing for patients that leave, coming soon - the ability to transfer large health records, and analysis of GP2GP usage in their estate.

• Currently in pilot, the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) allows prescribers to send prescriptions electronically to a dispenser (such as a pharmacy) of the patient’s choice. This makes the prescribing and dispensing process more efficient and convenient for patients and staff, saves paper, improves stock control and patients can collect repeats direct from a pharmacy.

23

Folkestone Hythe & Rural cluster have been using EMIS technology to underpin the transformation of their service delivery model, making available an additional 10,000 appointments across the cluster. Supported by the cluster clinical system, the team introduced a centralised hub for their ARRS practitioners to enable resource and expertise to be shared across their network, and to relieve pressure from their stretched GPs. Single sign on made it easier for these ARRS clinicians to work efficiently, supporting their seven member practices across the local area.
